Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set for a reunion tonight as he’s about to face his old club Borussia Monchengladbach – the side he left for Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
“It will be very special to return to Borussia’s stadium. The people will be happy for my return and so will I. It was a pleasure to spend 18 years at this club,” commented the 24-year-old German about his former club.
During his two years with the Catalan giants, ter Stegen has won countless trophies including a treble (Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey) in his first season and a double (league and cup) a year after that. This season, he’s looking to add more silverware as he remains focused solely on his mission with Barcelona.
“I am here to give the best account of myself and to achieve three points. I want to win, and that is why I’m at Barca and I’m not thinking about other clubs. I have been living a great experience for two years now and I want to make the most of what the club is giving me.”
