Djokovic is the defending champion of the US Open, after defeating Roger Federer 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the final last year. This was the Serbian’s only second trophy in the tournament, after clinching his first in 2011 by overcoming Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 in 2011.
